This DVD contains every surviving film ever made by Winsor McCay, transferred from the Cinmathque Qubcoise beautiful 35mm archival prints. McCay was one of the greates and most influential artists in the history of animation. His characters Little Nemo, the intrepid traveler in Slumberland, Nemos friends Flup and Impie, and the charming Gertie the dinosaur where known throughout the world. One highlight is McCays first film, the stunning hand-colored Little Nemo (1911), taken directly from the only known 35mm print in existence.Other McCay treasures include the funny and bizarre How a Mosquito Operates (1912): his delightful Gertie the Dinosaur (1914), (79 years before Jurassic Park): the animators dark and disturbing propaganda masterpiece, The Sinking of the Lusitania (1918): and his later classics: Bug Vaudeville (1912), The Pet (1921), and The Flying House (1921). Plus the extremely rare Gertie On Tour, The Centaurs and Flips Circus! This is a DVD that will delight dreamers and dinosaur lovers of all ages.
