In 1989. LADY IN WHITE was invited to compete at the Festival Of Imagination in Clermont Ferrand, France. The Festival asked me to attend as their guest and I spent a glorious week amongst snow-peaked mountains and an international assemblage of lovers of movies, fine art, and prose. When LADY IN WHITE won all of the top awards in the film competition I was, needless to say, riding on that cloud! At a champagne reception immediately following the awards, I was approached by a Romanian author of science fiction and fantasy novels, three decades my senior, whose work was honored in the prose competiion. Having always had a healthy respect for those who have preceded me in this labyrinth called life, I lent an earnest ear to what he had to say.......You know what this is all good for, my dear Frank?No, I replied Tell me, waht is this all ogod for?Its good for remembering....when things are not so good again.What an impact those words would have upon me in years to come. My sages words and the memory strangers who have warmly shared their feelings with me upon a chance encounter. .......Youre the guy who made LADY IN WHITE? I love that film!My sage was right.
