Krzysztof Kieslowski, the director of the "Three Colours" trilogy, expanded two episodes of his BAFTA winning cycle of short films based on the Ten Commandments, Dekalog, into full.length features. The results are the haunting "A Short ilm About Love" and this brutal story based upon the Commandment "Thou shall Not Kill" a Disaffected young man murders a taxi driver and is put on trial by the state. Though defended by an idealistic lawyer he is finally sentenced to death by hanging for his crime.
