Chieh Wen (Michael Hui) works at a television station. He has signed an eight year contract, and is bound to the station for quite some time because of it. His brother Tadpole (Ricky Hui) is an inventor, trying to make it big with his Be-All TV creation. Shih Chieh (Sam Hui) is a magician trying to make it on television. When his boss, Ms. Wang, refuses to release him from his contract so that he can join a rival station, Wen convinces Tadpole to help him steal the contract from a safe.
