Stephen Chow plays Sing, a hopeless wannabe bad-guy in a 1930s gang-dominated city in China. He and his equally hopeless sidekick enter a poor town aptly named Pigsty Alley, and they proceed to impersonate high-ranking members in the “Axe-Gang,” the ruling triad group of the area. They piss off some villagers and soon incur the wrath of a loudmouth landlady of the entire town, so Sing goes off to call for reinforcements. To his luck, the Axe Gang is already there, and they get into an actual conflict with the townspeople so three veteran martial artists in the town intervene and send the gang home with bruises. But the strongest triad group isn’t going to just stand for a poor shantytown beating them…
