Abraham Lincoln was D.W. Griffith's first foray into the realm of "talkies". The film follows the life, loves and tribulations of Abraham Lincoln (Walter Huston), including his career as a lawyer. It also includes his successful run for Presidency, the second term in office and his assassination at the Ford Theatre all throughout the civil war. Often perceived as an eccentric by his contemporaries, Lincoln moves through each cataclysmic event of seeing unendurable stress, with an almost saintly calmness and grace.
