As teenagers, Sung-Woo and his friends formed a band called Waikiki Brothers, and hoped to become the Korean version of The Beatles. Now in his thirties, Sung-Woo is the only original member left, and plays with a younger group of hired guns in a hole-in-the-wall nightclub under the same name. He is joined in the nightclub by a comedian and singer, both of whom are trying to hold on to their performance dreams. When he comes across his old friends and bandmates, he finds they have steady jobs. Although Sung-Woo's friends think he is happy still writing songs, he only thinks of it as a way to scrape by, while wishing to be happy.
