Geared toward a new generation of kids and action fans, Speed Racer: The Next Generation builds on the legendary adventures of the original iconic series. After leaving the orphanage, Speed arrives at the Racing Academy and discovers that he is the son of the world famous Speed Racer who had gone missing many years ago. He also learns that the schools top racer and his main competition, X, is his older brother and the headmaster, Spritle is his uncle. When Speed finds the secret designs for the Mach 6 with his best friends and pit crew Lucy, Conor and his robot Chim Chim, the real trouble starts. Speed must not only contend with the everyday hassles of school life, but with the forces of the evil oil billionaire Zile Zazic. Zile will stop at nothing to prevent Speed from perfecting the gasless engine of the Mach 6 including enlisting the help of Annalise, his own daughter and X's girlfriend, and using an army of henchmen and the schools virtual track to stop Speed at every turn.
